What we collect
- Enquiry details you give us through our contact form — your name, email address, and the message and project details you choose to share.
- Technical data automatically logged by our hosting provider, such as IP address and basic browser information, used to keep the site secure and running.
We do not knowingly collect special-category data, and you should not send us sensitive personal information through the form.
How we use it
- To respond to your enquiry and discuss your project.
- To provide and maintain any website and hosting service you take out with us.
- To keep our own site secure and working properly.
Lawful basis
We rely on legitimate interests (responding to enquiries and running our business) and, where you become a client, performance of a contract. We only send marketing if you have asked us to, and you can opt out at any time.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your data. We use trusted providers to run our service, who process data on our behalf — for example our website host and form provider (currently Netlify). They process data under their own terms and appropriate safeguards.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry data only as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and for our legitimate business records, then delete it. Client records are kept for as long as we work together and for any period required by law (e.g. tax records).
Cookies
This site uses only what's necessary to function. If we add analytics in future, we'll update this policy and ask for consent where required.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us to access, correct, delete or restrict your personal data, and object to certain processing. To exercise any of these, email hello@blackwidowwebsites.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
